Food Service Aide/Cashier

This position is for the 2026/2027 school year at Hartley Elementary 9:30 - 2:00 with a 30 minute break Waseca Public Schools seeks a Food Service Aide/Cashier for the current school year at Hartley Elementary. This position helps prepare and serve student meals, operates the Point-of-Sale terminal, and maintains kitchen and dining room safety standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Receives and inputs money for student/staff food service accounts.
2. Operate point-of-sale terminal during meal service, runs necessary reports, and balances drawer at the end of each day.
3. Monitor reimbursable meal requirements for students.
4. Notifies students/staff of low account balances following individual building procedures.
5. Assists with clean up in the cafeteria, wiping tables, etc. at the end of each meal service.
6. Assists with dish washing at the end of meal service.
7. Follows appropriate dress and hygiene practices.
8. Assists with food preparation and set up for the daily meal offerings.
9. Follows sanitation and safety requirements in the preparation and serving of food items.
10. Records food usage and production for food items prepared; assists with monitoring food and non-food inventories.
11. Attends staff meetings, job related training classes and workshops as required or requested.
12. Other duties as assigned to help provide for an efficient and effective food service operation.
