• Hotel, Water's Edge Resort and Spa is currently accepting applications for Sous Chef. Our Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in all aspects of the kitchen. The Sous Chef will follow our Executive Chef’s specifications and guidelines and ensure all kitchen employees uphold company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications Monitor storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met Assist with monthly inventory Assist in training new staff and oversee kitchen employees’ skills and production.

Assure kitchen personnel are trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices At all times keep work area neat and clean Qualifications: High school or GED equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred Minimum 2-5 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment and experience in a culinary leadership role preferred Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests Serve Safe Certification required Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for extended periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions Benefits Water's Edge Resort and Spa offers a comprehensive benefits package for eligible full-time employees, including: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Group Life Insurance Paid Time Off 401(k) with Employer Contribution Eligibility Employee Discounts Employee Meals
