Plant Maintenance Mechanic

Description General Statement of Duties Performs assigned tasks issued by Maintenance Supervisor, Chief Operator or Water Resources Director. Ensure proper work methods and safety procedures are followed. Maintains inventory of essential parts, materials, and tools.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Tasks The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

• Completes work orders for preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Acquires quotes on materials, parts, and subcontracted work.
• Will be required to be on-call after hours, weekends, and holidays
• Will be required to respond after hours for waterline breaks and/or emergency repairs.
• Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
• Performs related work as required.

• Ability to maintain good health and physical condition to permit the full performance of the duties of this position. Minimum Education Qualifications
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• One year of experience in utility maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and maintenance of water treatment plants Physical Requirements
• Exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Work Environment and Exposures Position will require the employee to work in the following types of work environments Sometimes
