Caretaker

Temporary job available for a Caretaker to start immediately. Our client, a large housing association is looking for a Caretaker to work at two locations based in East London. Working 35hrs pw Monday to Friday. Pay rate up to £15.00p/h. JOB DUTIES The Caretaker job will involve the following Keeping sites clean and tidy and maintaining the appearance of the development.

Upkeep of the internal and external common way areas, communal areas and onsite management spaces. Carry out basic maintenance, such as changing light bulbs. Clear public areas of litter and remove any refuse from communal passageways, corridors, courtyards and communal spaces. Respond to spillages, waste dispersal or other light cleaning tasks ad hoc.

General health and safety checks Wash down any communal walls or apply light paintwork to any scuffed or damaged areas Ensure refuse areas are clear, presentable and free from blockages. Check and ensure all areas are fire safe and compliant – fire risk actions are completed Have an overview of site security including access points and CCTV.

Ensure all site risk assessments are completed in a timely manner. Carryout testing of alarm systems based on site. Minor landscaping and tidying of play areas, green spaces and communal outdoor spaces Stock control and stock checks. Support contract management procedures and assist site staff where necessary . Provide excellent customer service to residents during hours of work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate for the Caretaker job will have previous experience working in a similar job role. Cleaning experience,including deep cleans and basic maintenance experience. Written & spoken English to a high standard. Preferably have knowledge of Health and Safety requirements. JOB LOCATION The Caretaker Job is located in East London, working at 2 sites based in Mile End and Old Street, London E1.
