Dyno Technician

Job Details Title: Dyno Technician Department: Transmission Department Reports to: Transmission Manager Working Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday. Includes two unpaid 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Overtime will be ran on Fridays based on business needs.

Job Summary

/ Objective of Job The Dyno Technician is responsible for operating dynamometers to test Transmissions, ensuring they meet quality standards before delivery to the end customer. This role also involves tracking units and documenting various types of failures that may occur. Essential Job Functions Set up the dynamometer for the specific unit being tested Safely and correctly install the transmission on the dynamometer Monitor diagnostic software and analog pressure gauges to ensure required specifications are met Maintain records of units tested Document units that failed and specify the type of failure Update records and unit status at the workstation Maintain overall cleanliness of the work area and ensure proper upkeep of the dynamometer Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent 1 to 2 years of previous Transmission experience is preferred but not mandatory Good computer skills Ability to work mostly independently Clear understanding of Dyno manuals, or willing to learn Basic mechanical skills and a high level of attention to detail, with the ability to follow directions closely Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to remain goal-focused in a fast-paced environment Knowledgeable of safe work practices required in the department Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and organize tasks Performance Metrics Attention to detail Good work ethic / Willingness to learn Teamwork Safe work habits Dependability Productivity and efficiency Physical Demands Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, twist, and reach as needed to perform essential job functions. Ability to see and hear with or without corrective devices, in a manner that allows safe and effective job performance. Ability to communicate verbally to exchange ideas and information effectively.
