Education

& Experience Requirements High School Diploma/GED preferred One (1). Year slitter experience preferred Three to six (3-6) months of on-the-job training required Qualifications Dependability to be consistently at work and on time Reading and math skills, including knowledge of fractions and decimal computations Verbal/written comprehension skills Measuring skills using tape measure, micrometers, and/or calipers Operational knowledge of slitter machines and how to troubleshoot simple problems.

Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines A “Team” mentality Repetitive standing and/or bending capability during normal phase duties Heavy (25-75 lbs.) lifting capability during normal phase duties Responsibilities Perform a safety evaluation of the assigned workstation and surrounding area Verify that steel coil, machine setup, and job order match prior to machine operation.

Operate slitter machine using the push-button control panel. Manage production activity of slitter crew. Perform visual quality inspection of steel coil during the load and run process and the finished product. Record production information onto required forms. Perform workstation and surrounding area housekeeping tasks as required.
