Acounting Associate

Job Details: Job Location: Bloomington

• Bloomington, MN, Salary Range: $24.00 - $26.00Hourly, Job Summary: Schmitt Music is seeking a full-time Accounting Associate for our Bloomington, MN location. This position will perform general accounting functions including reconciliations, allocations, accruals, analyses, and journal entries to effectively close our monthly financial books. Additionally, this position will gather, compile, and present data for internal use and external audits.

Responsibilities

Perform daily accounting tasks Assist in monthend financial closings Reconcile major general ledger accounts Assist with sales tax filings Create, maintain, and manipulate data using Microsoft Excel Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately Gather documentation for audits Assist with other projects as needed Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel Experience with monthend and yearend responsibilities Aptitude for understanding and/or mastering computer systems Strong problem-solving skills and basic accounting principles knowledge Accurate and efficient work habits Effective verbal and written communication Professional mannerism when interacting with employees Well organized and a self-starter Desire to be a member of a supportive team Benefits: Multiple Health insurance plan options Dental, Vision, and Life insurance 401(k) retirement plan Holiday and vacation pay Flexible time off Work Environment: This position operates in an office setting and operates normal office equipment including computers, copiers, telephones, and filing systems.

Retail and office-type working conditions. The responsibilities of this position may frequently require using hands, arms, and talking or hearing. This position may often involve standing, walking, and sitting. This position may sometimes involve climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This position is a full-time day position.

Typical workdays are Monday through Friday with occasional weekend projects. Daily hours are flexible. Full-time status is a minimum of 37 hours per week.
