The hospital provides a wide range of acute specialist services, including stroke, obstetric, cardiac and trauma centres. The clinical service provides anaesthesia for 14,000 operations in the main operating theatres, with one third being emergency cases, with an additional 2000 anaesthetics are administered in other areas.

The 26-bed adult intensive care unit provides medical and surgical critical care for approximately 1800 patients per year.
