About the Opportunity: The Inspection Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all final inspection, in‑process inspection, FPI, part marking, and shipping/receiving activities to ensure products meet customer requirements and industry standards. This role provides daily leadership to Quality Inspectors and supports cross‑functional teams in resolving quality issues, maintaining compliance with AS9100 requirements, and improving inspection efficiency and effectiveness.

This posting is an existing vacancy within Pursuit Aerospace. Location: Orillia, Ontario. This is an Onsite position.

Responsibilities

Inspection Leadership & Daily Operations

  • Supervising all Inspectors across Final Inspection, In‑Process Inspection, FPI, Part Marking, and Shipping/Receiving.
  • Assigning and scheduling work to ensure adequate coverage and on‑time delivery of inspected and shipped product.
  • Ensuring all documentation, certifications, and shipping records are complete and accurate.
  • Reviewing aging WIP, rework, and non‑conformances to support timely disposition. Quality & Compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with AS9100 requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
  • Supporting customer source inspections and internal/external audits.
  • Ensuring calibration requirements are maintained, including CMM and other inspection equipment.
  • Collaborating with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Scheduling to resolve quality issues, measurement concerns, and bottlenecks.
  • Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions, including CAPA activities and MRB processes.
  • Driving adherence to company and customer requirements through coaching, training, and leadership. Team Development
  • Supporting onboarding, training, and competency development for inspectors.
  • Ensuring training records are completed for on‑site and off‑site training.
  • Fostering a culture of accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement within the inspection team. Safety & Culture
  • Ensuring all inspection activities are performed safely and that all employees follow PPE, safety, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Contributing to a collaborative, respectful, and improvement‑focused team culture. Required Qualifications: Education & Experience
  • Post‑secondary education in a related field; or 3–5 years of relevant aerospace/CNC inspection experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or team‑lead role within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of precision machining, aerospace inspection requirements, GD&T, and blueprint interpretation.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 requirements and experience supporting audits or customer inspections.
  • Ability to lead teams, provide feedback, and support employee development.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficiency with ERP and QMS systems; basic Excel and reporting capability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an aerospace CNC machining environment.
  • Experience in supervising FPI, final inspection, or shipping/receiving functions.
  • Working knowledge of CMM operation, programming, or calibration processes.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis methods (5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC).
  • Experience facilitating or participating in Kaizen or process improvement events.
  • Experience supporting PPAP, FAIRs, or customer source inspections. Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, or move through CNC and inspection areas as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to perform manual inspection tasks, including handling parts and tools.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing inspection or administrative work.
  • Use of PPE (safety shoes, glasses, etc.) when on the shop floor.
