Job description

Remote Scanning Operations Manager The Manager of Remote Scanning Operations is a leadership role responsible for building and running Clear. Drive’s in-house remote scanning team — the technicians who perform OEM pre- and post-repair scans and diagnostics remotely for shop network. This is a centralized operations role, not a field role: the team works from a hub (or distributed home-office setup) and connects to vehicles at shops via remote diagnostic hardware.

The Manager owns technician hiring and ramp, scheduling and coverage, scan quality and throughput, OEM compliance, and the handoff with shop-level staff who physically connect the scan device to each vehicle. What’s in it for you? Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance options for you and your family (this includes domestic partners) $50,000 employer-paid life insurance policy 401K plan with an employer match Employee Assistance Program includes confidential assistance in the following areas Counseling from relationships to stress and substance abuse Work/Life benefits, including personal, financial, and legal issues Self-Help benefits Peak performance coaching Lifestyle saving benefits for wellness, shopping, travel Personal development and training Heath savings account to assist with medical bills Paid time off to promote work-life balance 8 paid holidays, including Black Friday, and get your Birthday as a floating holiday!

Growth opportunities within our company Key Responsibilities Remote Team Operations & Coverage Own day-to-day scheduling and shift coverage for the remote scanning team across all production hours, ensuring adequate staffing against daily scan volume. Manage the technician hiring and ramp pipeline -stage hiring against actual rollout volume rather than hiring to peak capacity up front.

Monitor real-time throughput and workload distribution; serve as the primary escalation point for scan delays, technical issues, or complex vehicle cases. Coordinate with shop-level staff on the physical hookup process (pre- and post-scan connection) to ensure a smooth handoff between on-site and remote steps. Quality, Compliance & Reporting Ensure all scans and diagnostics are performed to OEM repair standards and are properly documented.

Track and report KPIs: scans per technician per day, turnaround time, scan accuracy/rework rate, and coverage against rollout schedule. Perform regular quality audits of completed scans and calibration-flag accuracy; identify and correct systemic issues before they reach shops or carriers. Maintain proper system usage and documentation across the scan reporting platform(s) in use.

Rollout & Territory Support Partner with shop leadership and estimators as new locations come online per the rollout schedule, ensuring service expectations are met from day one at each site. Support the first-week ramp at each newly onboarded location, including troubleshooting connectivity/hardware issues with shop staff.

Feed field/shop feedback back into scheduling, training, and process improvements. Team Leadership Hire, train, and develop remote scanning technicians; build a clear path from new hire to senior/lead technician. Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings; foster a collaborative, high-performance remote team culture despite the distributed/centralized work setting.

Own performance management, including coaching and, where needed, corrective action.

Qualifications

& Requirements Experience 5+ years of automotive diagnostics, ADAS, or remote vehicle scanning industry experience. 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing a technical team, ideally in a remote/centralized (not purely field) operating model. Direct experience at a remote diagnostics provider - strongly preferred, either as a senior technician moving into leadership or as an existing team lead/supervisor.

Collision repair or insurance industry experience preferred. Certifications I-CAR and/or ASE certifications preferred but not required. Willingness to maintain and expand OEM-specific scanning/calibration certifications across the team. Skills Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills in a remote/distributed team setting.

Deep familiarity with OEM scan tools, remote diagnostic platforms, and ADAS calibration flagging/requirements. Comfortable building and reading throughput/KPI reports; data-driven approach to staffing decisions. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, CCC One, and remote diagnostic/workflow platforms. Experience scaling a technical team through a phased rollout a plus.

The specific pay rate/salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by several factors including experience, education, specialized certifications from OEMs, and where the job is located. We are an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants equally regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or disability status.
