Registered Nurse

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care and health education to students in coordination with other members of the Health Services team, acts as a liaison for the department, the Center for Student Wellness, and the Winthrop community, and assists with the clinic’s administrative functions.

Functions as a nurse specialist in applying the nursing process: Assesses, counsels, educates and makes decisions regarding disposition of student health concerns. Refers to the appropriate provider students in need of medical care outside the nurse’s scope of practice. Follows applicable standings orders and protocols as appropriate.
