Appeals Claims Processor

Pay - $17 to $19 per hour APS Medical Billing, in Toledo Ohio, is looking for an Appeals Claims Processor. This person assures timely and accurate claims are submitted to ensure the lowest possible days in accounts receivable. The person in the position will follow up on unresolved claims, investigate, identify, research and appeal denied claims.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for monitoring aging reports and follows up on overdue accounts Follows collection policies and procedures in accordance with established procedures and time schedules Follows all CMS requirements Works denial report to provide required information to insurance companies for claims payment Submits appeals with supporting documentation, when warranted Provides account information by answering inquiries (phone and mail) Identifies and assists in the resolution of issues Notifies management of issues Ensures that all HIPAA requirements and standards are followed and executed consistently Performs other duties as necessary Qualification Requirements Associate’s degree or up to two years medical billing experience preferred Medical Billing Certificate a plus Highly organized and detail focused Effective communicator (written and verbal) Problem solver with the ability to identify issues, provide feedback and follow up to resolution Strong computer, typing and technology skills Benefits Package includes Paid Time Off Medical plan Health Savings Account Alight Personal Health Care Advisor Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K Paid holidays EAP
