Job description

The Role An established and growing surveying consultancy is seeking an experienced Utility Surveyor to join its team in the East Midlands. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident in delivering utility surveys from initial site pickup through to post-processing and final deliverables. You’ll be trusted to manage your own workload, work independently on site, and produce accurate, high-quality survey outputs for a range of projects across infrastructure, construction, and development environments.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out utility surveys using a range of detection techniques Complete site pickups independently, ensuring accuracy and consistency Undertake full post-processing of survey data Produce clear, detailed utility drawings and reports to client specifications Interpret and record utility data including depth, size, and material where applicable Liaise with project managers and clients to ensure survey requirements are met Maintain survey equipment and ensure calibration and data integrity Work in compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental procedures Requirements Essential Experience & Skills Proven experience as a Utility Surveyor Level 3 or Level 5 qualification in Utility Mapping / Surveying (or equivalent) Ability to carry out own site pickups and post-processing Strong understanding of underground utility detection methods Experience producing deliverables using industry-standard software Good knowledge of PAS 128 standards Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Full UK driving licence Desirable Experience working across infrastructure or construction projects PAS 128 accreditation Experience with EML and GPR surveys Confident liaising directly with clients and site teams
