Custodian (Part-Time, Evening Shift)

• Eatontown, NJ, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00Hourly, Job Shift: Swing, Hawkswood School is seeking dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented part-time Evening Custodians to join our team. We have 4 positions available. The successful candidates will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for students, faculty, and staff. The anticipated start date for these positions is November, 2026.

Responsibilities

Hawkswood School's evening custodians perform various cleaning duties. The custodians maintain safe, clean and sanitary conditions, and communicate with the Educational Facilities Manager and the Daytime Custodian. Duties include but are not limited to: Clean assigned classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, conference rooms, common areas, gym, and cafeteria.

Monitor and replenish restroom supplies. Respond promptly to spills, sanitation needs, and maintenance concerns. Perform routine cleaning, floor care, trash disposal, and general custodial duties. Coordinate daily cleaning priorities with the daytime custodian. Follow established school safety and sanitation procedures.

Schedule Monday

• Friday 3:00pm – 8:00pm, for a total of 25 hours per week. Hawkswood School provides a competitive hourly rate ranging from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, based upon experience. Additionally, part time employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) retirement plan and earn paid sick leave. Skills and Qualifications: Skills and Qualifications Hold a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous custodial experience is preferred. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Ability to perform physical custodial duties, including frequent standing and walking; bending, reaching, lifting, and operating cleaning equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe school environment. Successful candidates will be required to complete a physical and drug screen, as well as a Department of Education criminal history background check.
