POSITION SUMMARY

Under the clinical supervision of the oral health program manager and administrative supervision of the HK Business Operations Manager, the On-call Health Tech (Oral Health) will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of oral health services during select school-based oral screenings and sealant events, distributing consents forms for oral health, data entry and health education as requested.

Work days include: Monday

  • Friday LOCATION: Various schools on Oahu To learn more about the Hawaii Keiki Program, please visit https://nursing.hawaii.edu/hawaii-keiki/ ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS Distribute consent packets and other dental supplies to schools prior to and on the day of the scheduled event. Participate at Oral Health Events including oral health assessments, sealant visits, oral health education and community events as needed. Assist with training HIDOE and Charter HT on oral health school visits Assist dental staff in the provision of oral health education to students Scan and upload oral health data into electronic record keeping systems (IC) Maintain confidentiality of all health information. Provide first aid and emergency care in conjunction with school staff. Apply principles and practices to assess, prevent, and control infectious diseases. Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness of clinic space. Comply with all relevant State and Federal laws. Review and comply with relevant UHP, DOE and Charter school policies. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

AND REQUIREMENTS Education/Training/ Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Certification in a health related field or equivalent job related work experience Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or current BLS Certification Experience working in a clinical setting. Knowledge/Skills Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Excellent organizational skills Customer service skills Familiarity with Patient Confidentiality laws (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Vital sign measurement Current First Aid and CPR certification or Basic Life Support certification COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Pay rate: $25.
