About the role
Our Melbourne Banking & Finance team are currently recruiting a Solicitor to work closely with Partners, Anne-Marie Neagle and Ian Paterson as well as the wider practice. We are keen to hear from banking and finance lawyers with experience working on banking and finance matters who are interested in further developing a specialisation in securitisation, derivatives, debt capital markets, derivatives & structured products and hybrids.
We will provide further training in the specialities! You will be responsible for varied challenging complex legal work which often sets the pace in the market. Our team advise on a full range of financial products. We bring outstanding teamwork and in-depth knowledge to every transaction and work closely with each other and other colleagues around the firm.
Our clients range from major financial and government institutions, investment banks, financial advisors and regulators to industry groups, financiers and corporations. All of our lawyers, regardless of their experience, have direct exposure to clients. You will have banking & finance experience with secured finance experience; strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent drafting, legal analysis and problem-solving abilities; the ability to quickly understand and navigate complex legal and commercial issues; commercial curiosity, and a drive to keep up to date with sector issues and developments to enhance personal performance and client delivery; a collaborative and team-oriented approach, with the ability to develop strong internal relationships and work effectively with colleagues across the firm; a positive, adaptable and self-aware approach, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving legal environment; a willingness to embrace new technologies, including AI-enabled legal tools, as part of your ongoing professional development.
