Snowflake FinOps & Platform Administrator
Job description
Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Snowflake Fin. Ops & Platform Administrator with 15+ years of core IT experience to manage, secure, and optimize our enterprise Snowflake platform and supporting AWS infrastructure. This is strictly a Sys. Admin / DBA / Platform Engineer profile—not a data engineer or ETL developer.
The ideal candidate brings extensive background in enterprise infrastructure, database administration, platform performance tuning, multi-account governance, infrastructure as code, and cloud financial management (Fin. Ops). You will take direct ownership of configuring environments, diagnosing bottlenecks, implementing cost-saving measures, and automating administration via modern Git.
Ops pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Snowflake Administration & DBA Operations Manage, configure, and maintain multi-account Snowflake enterprise environments. Lead database administration, system upgrades, user access patterns, and query workload profiling. Implement robust platform governance, role-based access controls (RBAC), data masking policies, and secure data sharing.
Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, complex query inefficiencies, resource contention, and connectivity incidents. Snowflake & AWS Fin. Ops (Cost & Performance Optimization) Design, implement, and track end-to-end Fin. Ops frameworks across Snowflake compute, warehouses, storage, and AWS services. Analyze warehouse sizing, auto-suspend/resume mechanics, multi-cluster concurrency scaling, and query tuning to drive sustained cost reductions without impacting SLA.
Establish cost baselines, chargeback/showback allocation models, budget thresholds, and telemetry to quantify realized savings. Monitor AWS infrastructure consumption tied to Snowflake data workflows and optimize cloud storage tiers and networking egress/ingress costs. Automation, Git. Ops & Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Codify and automate Snowflake provisioning, configurations, and policy enforcement using Terraform.
Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines via GitHub adhering to strict Git. Ops best practices. Automate operational health checks, alerting, and reporting workflows.

Extensive Snowflake Platform Expertise: Deep hands-on experience acting as a primary Snowflake Administrator / DBA in large, multi-account enterprise setups.
Demonstrated Fin. Ops Success: Proven track record analyzing credit consumption, identifying waste, and actively driving quantifiable cost optimizations across warehouses, storage, and queries. Cloud Infrastructure (AWS): Strong background managing AWS services, cost allocation, security configurations, and infrastructure integration with Snowflake.
Security & Governance: Deep understanding of Snowflake security models, including granular RBAC design, row/column-level masking, network policies, and data sharing protocols. IaC & Tooling: Proficient in provisioning and deploying resources via Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Git. Ops delivery pipelines. Hands-on Mindset: Able to independently diagnose, benchmark, configure, and execute technical solutions end-to-end.
