Vincennes Community School Corporation Position: Basketball Girls Other Assistant (2 positions) Location: Vincennes Lincoln High School, Vincennes, IN School Year: 2026�2027 JOB DESCRIPTION �Basketball Girls Other Assistant Reports to: Head Coach Supervises: Athletes as assigned by head coach. Basic Function: To carry out the goals and objectives of the Vincennes Lincoln Athletic Department, Vincennes Lincoln High School, the Vincennes Community School Corporation, and the IHSAA.

General Responsibilities Have a thorough understanding of the policies, rules, regulations and philosophies of the administration, athletic department, school corporation, IHSAA, and the National Federation. Support and enforce said policies, rules, regulations and philosophies in spirit as well as practice. Be aware of and attend meetings appropriate to the sport and job responsibilities.

These meetings include but are not limited to rule interpretation meetings, athletic department meetings, awards programs, scholar athlete presentations, workshops and clinics, select school board meetings, meetings of feeder programs, etc. Understand the administrative chain of command and work through the proper channels when making requests or voicing concerns or grievances.

Work to stay abreast of new innovations in the sport. Maintain a sound philosophy and practical approach to working with student athletes. Constantly seek to improve as a coach. Administrative Duties Assist head coach in checking eligibility of athletes. Assist head coach in the development of the schedule. Assist the head coach in the necessary preparation to conduct practices, competitions and special events (conference or IHSAA tournaments).

Forbid participation to anyone without a completed current physical and completed Final Forms. Assist the head coach in the development or implementation of an emergency action plan for your sport and assist in conducting a yearly risk management audit of facilities and equipment. Work with other staff members and coaches outside your sport in resolving conflicts with other school activities.

Assist in the maintenance of current and accurate rosters, including student staff members, throughout the season. Student Responsibilities Expect teams to behave in a manner that represents the school and community in the best light. Provide appropriate supervision at all times. Be a motivator. Balance positive encouragement with constructive criticism.

Demonstrate mature enthusiasm. Encourage athletes to participate in other sports and extracurricular activities and demonstrate your support by attending these functions. Provide constant attention to students' academic progress and conduct. Public Relations Cooperate with other members of the athletic staff in maintaining a harmonious working atmosphere.

Display loyalty to the entire school athletic program. Maintain a realistic level of expectation from players, staff, administration and school. Show your support and work with sponsors and members of support groups, parent groups and Booster Clubs. Establish good relations with feeder programs such as the middle school, and other community recreational groups.

Terms of Employment Length of position will be determined by IHSAA authorized contest and practice seasons and scheduling by the Athletic Director. Evaluation Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Athletic Director and the head coach in accordance with established job goals and performance responsibilities.
