Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X) Academic Cytopathologist/Surgical Pathologist

The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking an Academic Cytopathologist/Surgical Pathologist to join its Division of Anatomic Pathology. The Cytopathology service at UC San Diego handles approximately 25,000 specimens annually and is staffed by 6 fellowship-trained cytopathologists and surgical pathologists.

The successful candidate will have clinical responsibilities for cytopathology and surgical pathology specimens associated with robust general care, organ transplant, and cancer programs at UC San Diego Health, including the Rebecca and John Moores Cancer Center (the region's only NCI-designated Cancer Center), Jacobs Medical Center, Hillcrest Medical Center, and the Koman Family and Mc.

Grath Outpatient Pavilions, as well as our referral/outreach/consultation programs and an expanding clinical integration network. The successful candidate will also engage in collaborative clinical and translational research with members of our clinical teams and other colleagues, and will teach and educate medical students, residents, visiting scholars, and fellows.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.
