Psychometric Rater
Job description
Summary: PCR seeks a Psychometric Rater in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) trials who specializes in the objective measurement of cognitive and behavioral functioning. A psychometric rater will focus heavily on standardized, structured, and quantitative testing batteries. Psychometric raters will be responsible for managing the psychometric aspects of clinical trials, following study-specific protocol requirements and communicating with clinical staff, study sponsor and participants.
Duties and Responsibilities
Works with affiliates or collaborating research sites Administer assessments for the Free Memory Screen Clinic Administer cognitive tests and rating scales Responsible for the maintenance of the scales such as addressing queries, completing training, etc. Serve as a rater on clinical trials for neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer’s disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and Parkinson’s disease Aid in management of recruitment databases, conduct recruitment and outreach initiatives for the various clinical trials Participate in meetings Ensure assessments are conducted consistently and accurately across all participants Ensure all data is accurately recorded into the study database Maintain confidential and secure handling of all participant data Regularly review data for completeness and accuracy and resolve any discrepancies Adhere to all regulatory and ethical guidelines, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and institutional review board (IRB) requirements Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the integrity of data collection and reporting Attend regular training sessions to stay current with best practices and protocol updates Work closely with the Principal Investigator, clinical trial coordinators, and other team members to ensure seamless study operations Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in social work, psychology or related health field. Masters in relevant areas preferred. Combination of education and significant experience may be considered Experience working with a geriatric population Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team as well as independently Proficient in administering cognitive assessments Research experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficiency in Spanish preferred Organizational skills Ability to pay attention to detail People skills including possessing a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor Ability to be flexible with changing priorities Ability to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner Excellent ability to report and present skills Strong interpersonal skills Strong mathematical knowledge Excellent computer skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Foxfire, and web-based enterprise solutions software.

Work is performed in an office and/or clinical environment. Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required. Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for 6–10 hours per day. Frequent mobility required. Occasionally squatting, kneeling, or bending. Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects with a maximum lift of 20–50 lbs.
