Groundskeeper

TITLE: GROUNDSKEEPER WORK SCHEDULE: 12- month SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Support Staff Salary Schedule

• Group B $15.89 GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide safe and aesthetically pleasing landscaping, playing fields, athletic fields, parking and walkway areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Installs and repairs irrigation systems; Mows and trims grass; Cares for all grass, trees, plants and flowers; Repairs and maintains grounds equipment; Conducts safety inspections of playground equipment, repairs as needed; Removes debris from drives, parking lots, sidewalks and other areas as required; Removes grounds trash and litter; Prepares athletic fields for events; Maintains swimming pool, including water chemistry; Performs minor maintenance duties as assigned; Performs other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent, preferred; One year of experience preferred; Ability to communicate and work well with staff; Possession of a valid Arizona driver's license B. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift 75 lbs without assistance C. COMMITMENT & DEPENDABILITY: Willingness to perform as an integral member of a successful team; Dedication to providing the highest level of service; Willingness to adhere to and uphold all policies and procedures.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS A. TIME MANAGEMENT: Routine work with little planning needed; B. STRESS MANAGEMENT: Minimal stress associated with the position; C. PUBLIC CONTACT: Completes work with minimal contact with others; D. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY: Must use sound judgment in performing job. EVALUATION PROCEDURE : In accordance with provisions specified in Governing Board policy.
