Responsibilities
The District Intervention Tutor provides targeted reading and/or math support to help students strengthen essential skills and make academic progress. Tutors work closely with school staff in grades 1-5 to ensure interventions align with each student's identified needs. Provide direct reading and/or math intervention to assigned students.
Deliver targeted instruction based on students' identified academic needs. Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support student progress. Maintain accurate weekly logs of tutoring hours and interventions provided. Record and monitor student attendance. Communicate student progress, needs, and concerns with appropriate school staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Successful prior teaching experience for these grade levels a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles. Ability to interpret policies as related to job functions.
Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively with students and families. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
