Job Summary
Leads the Process Engineering team in improving operational efficiency, quality, and productivity. Oversees process optimization, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical problem-solving to support business objectives.
- Product/Process Design & Development
- Lead and develop the design and optimization of laser welding processes to ensure precision, strength, and quality of welds.
- Translate product and production requirements into laser welding parameters that meet industry and regulatory standards.
- Analysis & Validation
- Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, and assessments of welding parameters and material compatibility.
- Perform validation, testing, and troubleshooting of laser welding processes to ensure reliability and defect-free welds.
- Project Execution & Support
- Lead or support engineering projects related to installation, commissioning, and upgrades of laser welding equipment.
- Provide technical assistance to production teams to resolve laser welding-related manufacturing issues.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure laser welding operations comply with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and internal quality standards.
- Document process parameters, changes, and prepare reports to support audits and regulatory inspections.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to improve laser welding application and product design.
- Participate in technical reviews and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
- Process Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve laser welding efficiency, reduce defects, and enhance weld quality.
- Recommend and implement best practices, advanced process controls, and emerging laser technologies. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, welding procedure specifications, and process change records.
- Prepare presentations, project updates, and technical reports for management and clients.
Education
& Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in laser welding process development; Experience with laser welding equipment, process controls, and welding metallurgy is preferred. Skills & Competencies: § Strong understanding of laser welding principles, equipment, and process optimization techniques. § Proficiency in data analysis, welding simulation software, and process control tools. § Excellent problem-solving skills including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and present technical findings clearly.
