• Assistant Department Manager supports the daily operations of the Juice & Coffee Bar, ensuring exceptional customer service, high-quality beverage and food preparation, food safety compliance, and achievement of sales goals. This role assists with staff supervision, inventory management, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales Deliver outstanding customer service and create a positive shopping experience. Promote specialty beverages, smoothies, fresh juices, coffee products, and grab-and-go items. Suggest complementary products to increase sales and customer satisfaction. Resolve customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally.

Operations Management Assist in overseeing daily Juice & Coffee Bar operations. Ensure products are prepared according to company recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. Maintain attractive displays and proper product presentation. Monitor department performance and help achieve sales, labor, and profit goals.

Team Leadership Support training, coaching, and scheduling team members. Provide direction and support during daily operations. Monitor employee productivity, attendance, and performance. Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a customer-focused culture. Inventory & Merchandising Assist with ordering supplies, ingredients, beverages, and retail products.

Monitor inventory levels and minimize waste and shrink. Receive and properly store deliveries. Ensure pricing, signage, and promotional displays are accurate and effective. Food Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with health department regulations and company policies. Maintain sanitation standards throughout preparation, service, and storage areas.

Conduct routine quality and temperature checks. Follow all workplace safety procedures and standards. Financial Responsibilities Assist with controlling labor and operating expenses. Support sales-building initiatives and promotional events. Monitor department productivity and profitability. Help identify opportunities to improve revenue and customer engagement.

Qualifications

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in food service, coffee shop, juice bar, or grocery retail management preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
