Job description
Reidsville Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced, confident Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. This role is ideal for a technician who is comfortable working independently, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing high-level care to hospitalized and emergent patients.
Our technicians play a critical role in patient care and hospital flow. You’ll be trusted to problem-solve in real time, advocate for patients, support urgent care needs, and deliver consistent, detail-oriented nursing care across a variety of cases.
In this role, you will:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for hospitalized medical and post-operative patients, including ongoing assessments, treatments, and monitoring
- Triage incoming urgent and emergency cases overnight, prioritizing care and communicating changes appropriately as needed
- Independently carry out treatment plans, anticipate patient needs, and escalate concerns as needed
- Monitor vitals, pain levels, and patient comfort, documenting changes clearly and thoroughly
- Maintain precise medical records and flow sheets
- Support veterinarians with overnight procedures, diagnostics, and patient stabilization
Schedule: This is a flexible position open to full-time or part-time candidates. We are currently able to offer a variety of scheduling options, including day, evening, and overnight shifts, with weekend availability needed as part of the rotation.
Full-time benefits and compensation:**
- Compensation: $23 - 25 per hour, for each hour worked* (with additional stipends for hours worked after 7pm)
- Bonus package: $2000
- CE allowance: up to $1,000 annually based on tenure

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

3+ years of veterinary technician experience

Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of North Carolina**

Proficiency in the following skills:

Excellent documentation and communication skills

Experience with hospitalized patient care, monitoring, and emergency triage

Phlebotomy and IV catheter placement

Strong critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills
