Advisor, Product Development Project/Program Management Department | Product Manager I

As a Product Manager I at Verisk, you are responsible for leading an empowered product team to deliver meaningful outcomes—not just features. You will work closely with your tech lead and product designer as a trio to deeply understand user needs, uncover opportunities, and co-create valuable solutions for the property insurance industry.

Your focus is on problem ownership, not feature requests, as you develop strong product intuition and take accountability for solving customer and business problems in scalable, sustainable ways. Discovery & Problem Framing Lead discovery efforts with the trio to deeply understand the problem space Validate product ideas with real users through interviews, shadowing, and testing Prioritize opportunities based on desirability (customer), viability (business), feasibility (engineering), and usability (design) Delivery & Outcome Focus Translate validated opportunities into clear user stories, requirements, and success criteria Manage a transparent backlog that reflects current priorities and expected outcomes Ensure continuous delivery of valuable iterations that can be measured and learned from Partner with engineering and QA to deliver high-quality, usable, and performant solutions Establish, communicate, and manage release cadence of product Metrics & Learning Define and track success metrics for the features and problems your team owns Leverage analytics tools, support tickets, and qualitative feedback to drive product decisions Use data to validate impact, inform iteration, or pivot away from unproductive ideas Research industry, market, customer feedback, and other sources to make data-driven decisions to improve customer adoption and retention Track and report progress of product, including the success or failure of all stages Stakeholder Communication & Alignment Make product decisions within established frameworks and with guidance from senior product leaders Keep stakeholders informed and involved without surrendering team autonomy Collaborate cross-functionally with claims operations, marketing, sales, and customer success Contribute to [quarterly] planning by connecting team-level initiatives to company OKRs Represent product during customer calls, internal/external meetings, and all other events that warrant product representation Assist Product Leadership in developing, communicating, and executing the vision and strategy for property estimating software solutions Complete all responsibilities as outlined in performance objectives Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, design, insurance, or related field, or equivalent work-related experience and training 1–3 years of experience in product management, business analysis, UX, or technical roles Demonstrated ability to define problems, understand users, and deliver working software Solid grasp of agile and dual-track discovery principles Excellent communication skills for storytelling, alignment, and documentation A growth mindset with high curiosity and humility Experience with product analytics tools (e.

g., Mixpanel, Amplitude, SQL, Power BI) and Product/project/issue management tools (e.g., JIRA, Rally, Product Board, Confluence, Lucid, Miro, Figma) Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously Demonstrated time/priority management skills Experience in Agile work management, including use of issue tracking software such as JIRA Occasional travel required (10% or less) for customer research or industry events Intermediate understanding of property claims, restoration, and contracting industries preferred Understanding of Xactware's core products and insurance estimating concepts preferred #LI-MC1
