Construction Laborer
Job description
The Construction Laborer performs a variety of physical tasks to support construction activities on the mine site. This position is responsible for assisting skilled tradespeople, preparing and cleaning work areas, loading and unloading materials, operating basic tools and equipment, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with site preparation, and cleanup activities. Load, unload, transport, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment. Operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment as trained. Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth. Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades.
Remove debris and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Follow project plans, instructions, and safety procedures. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. Report safety hazards, incidents, or equipment issues to supervisors. Attend safety meetings and comply with all company safety policies and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
/ REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous construction or general labor experience preferred but not required. Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. Basic knowledge of construction tools and job site safety practices preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Attention to safety and detail Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Adaptability to changing project needs and priorities.
Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting. Ability to work on uneven surfaces and at varying heights. Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and dusty conditions. Must be able to use personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and work boots Work Environment Exposure to noise, dust, vibrations, and varying weather conditions.
May require overtime, weekend, or extended work hours based on project demands
