It’s an exciting time to join Porter Pipe & Supply as we expand into Ohio. We’re hiring our first General Manager in the Columbus region to help launch one of Porter Pipe's largest distribution centers. From the start, you'll play a key role in hiring your team, shaping the operation, and establishing a presence in the Ohio Market.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can drive operational performance, develop people, and build lasting customer relationships. You’ll work closely with fellow branch leaders, sales teams, and executive leadership as we grow in Ohio. What We’re Looking For A leader who coaches, develops, and holds teams accountable while earning their trust and respect.
Strong business judgment and experience managing budgets, operational metrics, and financial performance. A solid understanding of distribution operations, including warehousing, inventory, fulfillment, dispatch, and customer service. The ability to set priorities, solve problems, and lead through growth and change. A relationship builder who is comfortable working with customers, sales teams, branch leaders, and executives.
Wholesale or industrial distribution experience; PVF industry knowledge is a plus. What You’ll Do Lead the launch and ongoing performance of our Columbus Region Distribution Center. Hire, develop, and unite a team around Porter Pipe’s culture and service standards. Oversee warehouse operations, dispatch, counter sales, and other branch functions.
Drive results in safety, customer service, productivity, inventory accuracy, labor efficiency, and profitability. Manage the branch budget and P&L, using operational and financial data to guide decisions. Partner with inside and outside sales teams to grow customer relationships and establish Porter Pipe in the Columbus market.
Build relationships with customers, vendors, and local business partners, including through events and activities outside standard business hours. Plan for future staffing, capacity, and growth as the operation expands. Communicate clear goals and expectations while creating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect.

What You’ll Bring A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
At least seven years of progressive experience in distribution, warehouse operations, supply chain, or a related operational environment. At least three years of leadership or management experience. Experience with budgets, labor planning, cost controls, and performance metrics. P&L management experience is preferred.
A track record of developing leaders, improving team performance, and building a strong workplace culture. Experience using KPIs to improve safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, customer service, and delivery performance. Experience with ERP, WMS, or other distribution management systems preferred. Physical Demands Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity to perform job responsibilities.
