Job description

Position: Audio-Visual Technician Department: Information Technology Reports to: Director, Client Services Salary Grade: N Salary Range: 60,000- 75,000 Position Summary: Responsible for providing technical support, installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual systems and equipment. This position supports meetings, conferences, presentations, training sessions, special events, and video-conferencing environments.

The technician independently handles routine and moderately complex technical issues and works closely with end users, IT teams, facilities, vendors, and event personnel to ensure reliable and high-quality AV services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Install, configure, test, operate, and maintain audio-visual equipment and systems. Set up and support projectors, LED/LCD displays, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, cameras, video-conferencing systems, control systems, and related AV equipment. Provide on-site technical support for meetings, conferences, presentations, training sessions, and special events.

Troubleshoot and resolve audio, video, connectivity, signal, cabling, and equipment-related issues. Perform preventive maintenance, equipment testing, system checks, and basic repairs. Configure and operate video-conferencing and collaboration technologies. Support integration of AV systems with computers, networks, presentation systems, and other IT infrastructure.

Diagnose signal-flow and connectivity problems and identify appropriate corrective actions. Assist with AV system installations, upgrades, moves, and equipment replacements. Maintain accurate equipment inventories, service records, configuration documentation, and operating procedures. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment repairs, installations, and technical support when required.

Provide users with basic training and guidance on AV equipment and systems. Ensure AV equipment is properly stored, secured, maintained, and available when needed. Follow established safety procedures and organizational standards during installation, operation, and maintenance activities. Stay current with emerging AV technologies, standards, and industry best practices.

Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge & Skill Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in audio/video production. Strong understanding of audio and video equipment. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when dealing with high-level executives.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Dante Level III (preferred but not required) CTS (preferred but not required) Working Conditions: Works in an office environment as well as regular site visits to buildings and construction sites throughout Atlanta. May require frequent bending, stooping, reaching and prolonged sitting and/or standing.

Frequent local travel which necessitates a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and be fully insurable for the purpose of obtaining clearance on company “Authorized Drivers List.”
