Electrification designer

Join Our Team as an Electrification Designer Are you an experienced electrical engineering professional looking to work on challenging industrial projects in an international environment? Sumitomo SHI FW is seeking a skilled Electrification Designer to join our engineering team in Sosnowiec, Poland. In this role, you will become an integral part of a multidisciplinary project organization, working under the guidance of the EIC (Electrical, Instrumentation & Control) Discipline Engineer.

You will contribute to a wide variety of projects ranging from greenfield investments and brownfield modernization projects to service and upgrade assignments for industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electrification solutions for industrial projects. Perform dimensioning and specification of: Low- and medium-voltage switchgear Motor control systems and electrical drives Electrical distribution systems Prepare technical specifications and engineering documentation. Review technical solutions and ensure compliance with project requirements and relevant standards.

Support purchasing activities by acting as the electrical technical expert during supplier selection, technical evaluations, and procurement processes. Collaborate closely with project managers, process engineers, automation engineers, suppliers, and customers. Participate in technical discussions with engineering partners, contractors, and equipment vendors.

Qualifications

Required Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, electrification design, or industrial power systems. Strong capability in dimensioning and specifying electrical switchgear and motor drive systems. Experience in preparing technical specifications and engineering documentation.

Ability to support procurement and purchasing activities from a technical perspective. Good understanding of industrial electrical systems and engineering practices. Fluent communication skills in: English Polish Valued Experience Experience working with Polish EIC contractors, engineering companies, and suppliers. Experience in industrial process plants such as energy, power generation, manufacturing, or process industries.

Knowledge of greenfield and brownfield project execution. Familiarity with international engineering standards and practices. Experience in COMOS and 3 D Cadmatic or other design tools like Eplan / E3D. We shall train you to our tools. Additional Advantages Knowledge of other languages is considered a strong asset. Experience in international project environments.

Understanding of multidisciplinary project execution.
