Luxury Tequila Specialist - Casa Obsidiana
Job description
Boisset Collection is seeking an experienced Agave Spirits Specialist to represent and grow our spirits portfolio throughout the Southern California market. This position is based in the Greater Los Angeles area. This is a market-facing role for someone who understands how to build and grow luxury spirits brands. The ideal candidate combines strong sales instincts, deep knowledge of tequila and agave spirits, meaningful relationships within the Southern California hospitality community, and the ability to communicate provenance, craftsmanship, and brand stories with credibility.
This role will serve as a key ambassador for our spirits portfolio across one of the country’s most important luxury spirits markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND Southern California | Los Angeles-Based Casa Obsidiana is seeking an experienced Luxury Tequila Specialist to drive sales, distribution, and brand development throughout Southern California. This is a hands-on sales and market development role representing Casa Obsidiana, a luxury tequila created through the partnership of the Beckmann Gonzalez and Boisset families.
We are looking for someone who knows tequila, understands luxury, and knows how to sell. The ideal candidate has established relationships within the Southern California hospitality community and can turn those relationships, strong brand storytelling, and consistent market execution into placements, reorders, and sustainable sales growth.
This position must reside in the Greater Los Angeles area and will work throughout Southern California.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive sales, distribution, and depletion growth for Casa Obsidiana throughout Southern California. Develop targeted on-premise and off-premise accounts with a focus on luxury restaurants, hotels, cocktail bars, nightclubs, resorts, private clubs, and premium retailers. Build and maintain relationships with bartenders, beverage directors, buyers, sommeliers, hospitality groups, and other influential members of the Southern California trade.
Identify, pursue, and secure high-value placements appropriate for Casa Obsidiana's luxury positioning. Work directly with distributor sales teams in the market to identify opportunities, open accounts, secure placements, and drive reorders. Conduct account calls, staff trainings, tastings, educational seminars, trade presentations, and consumer experiences.
Educate the trade on tequila, agave, production methods, provenance, terroir, and the Casa Obsidiana story. Build advocacy for Casa Obsidiana among influential bartenders, buyers, operators, and hospitality professionals. Execute brand activations, dinners, tastings, partnerships, and other market-building initiatives.
Maintain consistent account follow-up to convert placements into sustainable depletion and reorder activity. Track account activity, opportunities, placements, competitive activity, and market trends. Provide regular feedback and market intelligence to the broader sales and brand teams. Represent Casa Obsidiana professionally and authentically in the market.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years of spirits sales experience. (alternative sales experience will be considered for the right candidate) Strong preference for experience selling tequila, agave spirits, luxury spirits, or other high-end beverage brands. Demonstrated ability to open accounts, secure placements, and grow sales. Strong knowledge of tequila and the broader agave spirits category.
Existing relationships within the Southern California on-premise and luxury retail community strongly preferred. Must reside in the Greater Los Angeles area. Strong understanding of the Los Angeles and broader Southern California hospitality market. English/Spanish bilingual strongly preferred. Experience working with distributors and distributor sales teams.
Strong presentation, education, storytelling, and interpersonal skills. Self-directed and comfortable managing an active territory and account pipeline. Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Southern California. Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends for account activations, events, tastings, and trade programming.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE You already understand the tequila business and the Southern California market. You can walk into a luxury hotel, chef-driven restaurant, influential cocktail bar, nightclub, or premium retailer and understand how Casa Obsidiana fits into their program—and how to sell it.
You are equally comfortable discussing agave provenance with a beverage director, working a market day alongside a distributor representative, conducting an intimate luxury tasting, and asking a buyer for the placement. You understand that education and storytelling support the sale—they don't replace it. We're looking for someone who can build genuine advocacy for Casa Obsidiana while remaining accountable for the commercial side of the business: new accounts, placements, reorders, distribution, and depletion growth.
