Position Summary

The Off-Site Maintenance Manager oversees the physical environment, life safety systems, and clinical equipment reliability across a regional network of outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, and physician offices. Essential Functions

Infection Control & Environment of Care (EOC): Partner with clinical staff to enforce strict Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) protocols during any physical repairs or facility modifications to protect vulnerable patients.

Critical Systems Maintenance: Oversee the preventive maintenance (PM) of medical-grade HVAC systems (including HEPA filtration and negative pressure rooms), backup generators, medical vacuum lines, and refrigeration units for vaccines and pharmaceuticals. CMMS Leadership: Utilize a healthcare-focused Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to dispatch, track, and close out work orders while maintaining flawless documentation for regulatory audits.

Budget & Capex Planning: Manage the regional maintenance budget and assist leadership in identifying capital expenditure (Cap. Ex) needs, such as HVAC overhauls or roof replacements. The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital’s goals and objectives.

Position Requirements: Healthcare Facilities Expertise: Deep understanding of medical facility infrastructure, including medical gas wiring, specialized lighting, and clinical space zoning. Regulatory Fluency: Strong working knowledge of NFPA 99 (Health Care Facilities Code), NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code), and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance.

Communication & Discretion: Exceptional communication skills to coordinate repairs around patient schedules and a strict commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance regarding patient privacy during on-site visits. Emergency Readiness: Ability to orchestrate urgent repairs (e.g., power failures, climate control loss in vaccine storage) remotely or while traveling between sites.

Education

High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of facilities maintenance experience, customer service, and management. Certifications: None. Travel: Must possess a valid driver's license.
