Part Time ASL/Interpreter Position

Part-Time ASL/Interpreter Position RSU 3 is seeking a dedicated professional to work with our special education team at Mount View Elementary School. We are looking for a Teacher of the Deaf, certified sign language interpreter, or an individual fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) to support our students with hearing impairments and communication needs.

Responsibilities

Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students, teachers, and peers. Collaborate with special and general education teachers to ensure inclusive classroom environments. Assist in developing IEP goals. Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field. Teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education. Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification. Experience with assistive technology and hearing devices. Knowledge of deaf culture and community. Fluency in American Sign Language.
