ECC Marketing Work Study

Job Title: Social Media Production Assistant Work Study Location: Ellsworth Community College Department: Marketing Reports to: Director of Marketing Semester: Fall 2026

• Spring 2027 Number of Openings: 1 Rate of Pay: $10.00 per hour Summary: Captures and edits short-form vertical video (15–60 seconds) showing classes, events, campus life, and student stories for Iowa Valley’s Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts accounts. Works about 8 hours per week under the direction of the Marketing department and a campus supervisor, delivering finished, captioned, publish-ready clips each week. Essential Job Duties: Capture short-form vertical video on campus, including classes, events, campus life, and student stories. Meet weekly with Marketing staff to identify content opportunities and maintain a shot list. Edit clips: trim, add captions, sync music and sound, and export in platform-ready formats for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts. Confirm every video is captioned and that featured individuals have a photo/video release on file before the clip is published. Deliver a consistent weekly output of finished, publish-ready clips. Abilities: Comfortable shooting and editing video on a smartphone or similar device. Familiar with Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts. Basic eye for framing, lighting, and audio. Reliable and able to meet weekly deadlines. Communicates professionally with students, faculty, and staff. Understands why privacy, captioning, and release requirements matter. Prior experience helpful, not required.
