Senior Structural Engineer - CSA

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Building engineering from a recognized university or collage. Work experience of more than 15 years in all facets of plant structural engineering and design of stick-built /module (onshore and offshore) including more than 6 years in engineering design of onshore & offshore structures and at least 3 years for fab yard support / procurement support in international large Oil & Gas / petrochemical projects; modular design experience is necessary

1. Complete the work as a structural Lead engineer of Piperack, equipment supporting structure, shelter, platform, miscellaneous support & UG facilities for oil refinery projects, LNG plant projects, and/or gas processing plant projects.
2. Asst Lead Engineer capability (Deputy to Structural LE) where required
3. Engineering Checker capability for large Oil & Gas / petrochemical facilities
4. Prepare design specification, standard drawing, work instructions and procedures.
5. Structural analysis as per relevant international codes and/or project specifications/guidelines
6. Control design status and schedule for structural activities
7. Control cost (manhour and BQ) for structural activities
8. Check engineering subcontractor’s products (3D model, MTO data, design drawing, calculation notes and foundation loading data etc.)
9. Steel Procurement coordination and module yard coordination – proposal phase & EPC phase
10. Review vendor’s drawing and other disciplines drawing
11. Review 3D model and coordinate structural layout with other disciplines and engineering subcontractors to avoid clash.
12. PJ coordination in terms of structural engineering with client, other disciplines, piping and structural layout engineers, , construction team, engineering subcontractors etc...
13. Coordination design changes with other disciplines, engineering subcontractor to minimize impact.
14. Communication and coordination with steel fabricators, construction subcontractor and engineering subcontractors
15. Raising Change orders to client, material requisitions to procurement and supporting procurement schedule
16. Working as Field Engineer for short tenures as required
17. Working at other Operating Centres of the company in above roles for a tenure Requirements
18. Knowledge of international code and standards (such as AISC, ASCE, ACI, PIP, Eurocode and BS etc...) for steel and concrete structural design
19. Knowledge of international code and standards (such as ASCE, UBC etc...) for wind load and seismic load
20. Willing to adapt to the organisation’s method of work delivery
21. Knowledge of standard international styles of business communication and experience in the preparation of business and technical documentation.
22. Knowledge of plant facilities (Piping, Electrical, Instrument, Equipment etc.) in oil refinery projects, LNG plant projects, and/or gas processing plant projects.
23. STAAD PRO operation skills.
24. Basic knowledge of 3D modelling philosophy
25. Calculation knowledge of connection capacity
26. Navisworks operation skills.
27. MS office & Excel operation skills.
28. Mentoring and training of junior engineers within the department.
29. Direct supervision and checking of the work by junior staff
30. Flexibility of working in project team as originator or supervisor as required – especially in early stages of project Note:
31. Knowledge of transport analysis (pre-service analysis) of module structure including optimisation may be considered as necessary requirement, depending on current position
32. Knowledge of concrete & Building design will be considered as additional skill
