Base Manager Luderitz

BASE MANAGER Duties and Responsibilities Ensures safe, complaint and efficient operation and that all contractual requirements are met. Ensure the Accountable Manager and the relevant Corporate functions and the customer are kept up-to-date in respect to all relevant contractual and operational aspects, such as the execution of the flight schedule, maintenance planning and aircraft availability, key performance indicators, safety reporting and any other issue impacting customer service delivery.

Maintains a continuous operational overview in terms of manpower, equipment and tools needed for the execution of the contract. Manage the weekly/monthly base meetings. Facilitates communication and teamwork between the other base managers and their teams. Maintains relationship with local authorities (CAAs, Airport, Customs, Security, etc) and local suppliers and other local stakeholders.

Provides to the Chief Pilot, Engineers and the Operation supervisors all the necessary direction and information for smooth and efficient operations. Produce and updates the Base Guide ensuring distribution among the team. Agrees, with the Accountable Manager, the communication of AOG to the customer. Responsible for updating the ERP to meet the needs of the base and the contract to be executed.

Supports the Safety & Quality department in any safety and hazard related matter. Ensures financial management of the base as requested by the Director and Finance department, including, but not limited to management of petty cash and local payments. Supports the Logistic Department in all logistics matters.

Required skills

At least 5 years of experience in the aviation industry and strong focus on safety and compliance. Ability to prioritize effectively and act decisively. Strong leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Customer focus with an emphasis on operational performance and output.

High level of personal and professional integrity. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to act strategically in the interests of the wider business. Closing date: 12 October 2026
