SUMMARY: The Laundry Utility is a key individual in the Housekeeping and Laundry departments responsible for supporting the Room Attendant team by removing all soiled linen/terry and trash from guest rooms prior to them being cleaned.

The Laundry Utility is also responsible for removing linen/terry, trash, and dishware from guest floor service landings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Remove all soiled linen, terry, and trash from departure guest rooms. An average of 48 rooms in an 8-hour shift, number of rooms assigned each day will flucuate based on business needs.
• Remove all soiled linen, terry, and trash from assigned guest floor service landings. Landings must be clear prior to ending your shift. Must be verified by Housekeeping leadership.
• Communicate effectively with Room Attendants and Team Leaders in the section to ensure all needs are accomplished -Display professional image at all times through appearance and conduct -Within position scope, ensure hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA -Uses the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): gloves and safety glasses, as needed -Report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly to management -Regular attendance in keeping with guidelines established by the company and site are essential to the successful performance of this position. -Carries out reasonable requests of supervisor or management. -Have knowledge about all emergency procedures and know how to act on them-
• Attend departmental meetings.
• Follow AHC handbook policies and standard operating procedures.
• Actively working, always looking for ways to assists guests and going above and beyond to provide guest service.
• Report any damage to guest rooms, corridors, or landings to Engineering department via HotSOS and Housekeeping leadership as soon as possible REQUIRED SKILLS: Must be reliable; willing to work weekends and holidays Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written Requires the ability to work independently and follow directions as assigned by supervisors EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Related experience is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the associate:
• Is regularly required to stand and walk for your shift
• Is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects
• Is required to frequently reach with hands and arms
• Is regularly required to talk or hear
• Is occasionally required to sit and stoop; kneel, or crouch -Be able to lift 75lbs on occasion and 20-30lbs regularly throughout the shift -Push/pull linen carts that weigh up to 400lbs
