Survey Technician

This vacancy is for a Survey Technician position in the Associate Director for Field Operations located at the U.S. Census Bureau Field Division . Regional Offices. A few positions are available at each of the five (6) Regional Office locations. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Survey Technician, 0303-6, FPL None positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

The work schedule for this position is Mixed Tour. With a Mixed Tour work schedule, an employee may be changed between full-time, part-time and intermittent work schedules to accommodate fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement... Specialized Experience: For the GS-06 , you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service.

Experience for this position includes: checking, reviewing, and editing incoming questionnaires for completeness and accuracy and identifying questionable responses; conducting telephone interviews on problem cases and recording information in a clear, concise manner; developing and streamlining methods of operation for office automation support such as: installing programs, creating data fields to track data, editing and preparing reports including graphs and charts, and establishing procedures; and troubleshooting hardware problems with laptop or personal computers.

OR Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri. Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
