Maintenance Technician

AKA Hotels+Hotel Residences is hiring for a Maintenance Technician for AKA Sutton Place! Team Member Responsibilities: Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard. Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.

Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems and make minor repairs and/or replacement. Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, and HVAC.

Maintain the building exterior and “curb appeal”. Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed. Perform other duties as needed. Team Member Requirements: Willingness to accept the most effective role.

Function as a representative of the AKA culture and standards to all Team Members and our residents. Maintains regular attendance in compliance with the AKA standards. Approach all encounters with residents and Team Members in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Promotes a safe, secure and healthy work environment. Maintains Resident/guest privacy and confidentiality by protecting all personal information.

Familiar with emergency and safety procedures for your role. Adheres to AKA Image Requirements policy. Desired Skills: Proficiency in English (written and oral). Proven strong background in Maintenance and/or Room Operations. General Maintenance Skills: plumbing, electric, carpentry, and appliance repairs. Ability to troubleshoot internet enabled areas and devices.

Required Qualifications: High school degree or equivalent. Minimum of one to two years of maintenance experience. Ability to be flexible with work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Meticulous attention to detail. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. Able to push/pull up to 50 pounds as needed.

Sits, stands, bends, stretches, lifts items and moves intermittently during working hours. Able to work with chemicals.
