Primary School Teacher

We are looking for a Primary School Teacher for a bilingual school based in Jurong, Jiangsu province. This position is available from the 2026–27 academic year in August 2026. About the school Located in Jurong, Jiangsu, just outside Nanjing, this privately run K–12 day and boarding school is part of the Country Garden education group and offers a dual-track model combining the Chinese curriculum with international and fusion programmes, including a full IB continuum and Cambridge pathways.

The school serves around 1,500 students with over 200 teachers, including more than 10 expat staff. The campus is modern and well-resourced, with strong emphasis on whole-person education, global perspectives and academic achievement. Expat teachers typically work in the international/fusion sections in English-medium classrooms alongside bilingual Chinese colleagues, supporting students’ academic, personal and language development through inquiry-based learning and a broad co-curricular programme in arts, sports and STEAM.

Job responsibilities

Teach primary school students using the IB PYP framework and ensure an engaging and enriching learning experience Plan and deliver inquiry-based lessons that support students’ academic, social and emotional development Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, assessments, report comments and student progress records Collaboratively teach alongside fellow educators and actively contribute to the development and enhancement of the school’s curriculum Create a student-centered classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence and international-mindedness Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide clear learning targets so that all learners can succeed and improve Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents and caregivers Participate in school events, parent communication, co-curricular activities and other duties as required Develop supportive and safe learning environments Requirements Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in English, Language, Literature, Education or a related subject Recognized teaching qualification from the candidate’s home country preferred Experience teaching primary school students preferred IB PYP / UOI experience is preferred, but not required Candidates with a strong language or literature background may also be considered, even without prior PYP experience Candidates with a language teaching certificate and relevant primary or language teaching experience may also be considered Benefits Monthly salary of 23,000 to 26,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications Free on-campus apartment Monthly meal allowance of 660 RMB Stipend of 5,400 RMB per semester Medical insurance Paid winter and summer holiday Public holidays Performance-based bonus
