Professional Groomer American Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced pet groomer to help launch a new grooming department in a busy veterinary hospital! At American Animal Hospital, our goal is to provide excellent veterinary services to the community and do everything possible to help those in need. We are a full-service state-of-the-art 5 doctor animal hospital located in Randolph, NJ.

Each one of our employees are chosen based on their compassion, skills and in-depth veterinary knowledge. We are excited to add a new service to our hospital and are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and talented Pet Groomer to join our veterinary team.

Position Overview

The Pet Groomer will provide high-quality grooming services while promoting the health, safety, and well-being of our patients. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, customer-focused, and enthusiastic about helping us build a successful grooming program from the ground up.

Job Responsibilities

Perform breed-specific and pet-style grooming services Bathing, brushing, drying, clipping, hand-scissoring, and nail trims Recognize and communicate potential health concerns to veterinary staff Maintain a safe, clean, and organized grooming area Provide exceptional client communication and customer service Handle pets with patience, compassion, and professionalism Assist in developing grooming schedules and service offerings Adhere to hospital safety, sanitation, and pet handling protocols Skills Needed: Minimum of 2 years of professional pet grooming experience preferred Grooming certification is a plus, but not required Knowledge of breed standards and grooming techniques Ability to safely manage dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Reliable, organized, and able to work independently Passion for animal health and wellness Ability to stand and bend for long periods of time Weekend availability 7 am - 6 pm availability Physical Obligations: Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Endure standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment Take safety precautions for exposure to toxins, drugs, anesthesia and radiation Educational Requirements: Professional grooming certification Minimum age requirement of 18 years old Benefits : Competitive compensation based on experience Commission and/or salary options available Established client base within a busy veterinary hospital Opportunity to build and grow a new grooming service Supportive team environment with veterinarians and veterinary technicians Employee discounts on veterinary services and products Continuing education opportunities About Us American Animal Hospital is committed to providing exceptional medical care and outstanding client service.
