Staff/Senior Staff Accountant

Albany Law invites applications for the position of Staff/Senior Staff Accountant to support a broad range of accounting and financial operations across the institution. This role encompasses student account management, investment and endowment analysis, grant and contract administration, budget monitoring, and general ledger reconciliation.

The successful candidate will apply their accounting expertise, collaborate with colleagues across departments, and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of the institution’s financial operations. Your Work Will Include, But Not Be Limited To: Oversee tuition billing, account adjustments, receivables, collections, and coordination with Financial Aid, the Registrar, and other departments.

Analyze investment activity, prepare financial reports and journal entries, and monitor endowment and trust accounts. Prepare invoices and financial reports, monitor spending and budgets, coordinate with grantors, and support audits. Reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, monitor cash balances, and support financial reporting and compliance.

Partner with Business Office colleagues and other departments to support financial operations and provide backup assistance as needed. Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education. CPA preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized accounting systems.

Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with excellent attention to detail. Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, work independently, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 per year. The salary and title will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and in consideration of internal equity.
