Position Summary
The System Operations Strategy and Analytics Analyst primarily provides operational support to the Jet. Blue System Operations Center (SOC) enhancing data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. This role leverages data and technology to support Jet. Blue’s overall operational excellence and system efficiency to address challenges faced by the SOC.
The position serves as a bridge between the Operations and Planning teams, fostering collaboration to streamline processes, implement scalable solutions, enhance decision-making capabilities, and support a more resilient schedule. The Analyst reports to the Director, Operations Strategy & Engineering, with a direct supporting relationship to the Director, System Operations Strategy & Continuous Improvement.
Essential Responsibilities: Analyze Jet. Blue's operational performance and assess constraints that impact efficiency. Drive the development and adoption of capabilities, dashboards, and decision-support tools to enhance operational efficiency in the SOC and the broader Jet. Blue operation. Partner with and liaise between operating groups to align tactical execution and strategic objectives.
Act as a key liaison between operational teams and data experts, applying a holistic view to develop and implement policies, strategies, processes, and technologies that address large-scale challenges while aligning with operational reliability and efficiency goals. Support strategic planning for Jet. Blue's operational reliability across multiple teams.
Conduct reviews and analyses to support SOC, building a smarter and more resilient schedule. Support SOC Weekly Operations Reviews and continuous improvement efforts. Provide subject matter expertise in operational data, partnering with SOC, Enterprise Planning, IT Products, IT Data, and other stakeholders to ingest and develop insights and support data-driven decision-making from various data sources.
Other duties as assigned. Minimum Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience.
Two (2) years of quantitative and analytical experience or coursework experience. Proficiency in database querying (e.g., SQL), high-level programming languages (such as Python or R), statistical modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical issues assertively and tactfully. Excellent multitasking skills. Availability for occasional overnight travel (20%). Must pass a pre-employment drug test. Must be legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located. Authorization to work in the U.
S. is required; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Preferred Experience and Qualifications Master’s degree in Aviation, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. One (1) year of work experience in aviation or a related field, with progressive responsibility in operational strategy or decision support.
One (1) year of work experience at an airline in System Operations, Operations, Network, Enterprise Planning, or a related cross-functional role. Strong airline business acumen, including a deep understanding of airline operations, network planning, and strategic decision-making. Knowledge and/or experience with best practices across the airline industry.
Knowledge of collaborative decision-making practices and airline operations. Crewmember Expectations: Regular attendance and punctuality. Potential need to work flexible hours and respond on short notice. Able to maintain a professional appearance. When working or traveling on Jet. Blue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.
Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Jet. Blue culture, exhibiting the Jet. Blue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun. Promote Jet. Blue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting Jet. Blue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy, and behavioral standards. Identify safety and security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including Jet.
Blue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Safety Action Report (SAR)) Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.), and company policies, procedures, and risk controls. Uphold Jet. Blue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to job responsibilities.

Compensation
The base pay range for this position is between $67,000.00 and $101,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of Jet. Blue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on Jet.
