Athletics/Activities-NJ Certified Lifeguards

PROGRAM: Athletics Swim Practice & Home Competitions POSITION (S): Athletics/Activities-NJ Certified Lifeguards REQUIREMENTS: Certified by an organization recognized by the Department of Health listed in N.J.A.C 8:26 Appendix A in any of the following NJ Department of Health approved Lifeguarding certifications; American Red Cross (2-year certification) National Aquatics Safety Company (1-year certification) Basic Lifeguard American Aquatics and Safety Training (2-year certification) Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid Thorough knowledge & application of lifeguarding surveillance & rescue Techniques; An understanding of facility policies, procedures, and rules; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons by preventing & responding to emergencies; Enforces all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations; Recognizes & responds effectively to emergencies; Inspects the aquatic facilities before the shift & reports unsafe conditions; Report to work on time as per schedule; Dresses appropriately & identifiable as a lifeguard at all times; Guards the swimmers through vigilant observation & preventative lifeguarding according to PUBLIC RECREATIONAL BATHING N.
