Commercial Performance Analyst
Job description
About Kolomoni Kolomoni Microfinance Institution (Gambia) is a microfinance institution licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of The Gambia. We are a subsidiary of Capital. Sage Holdings, a Nigerian-founded conglomerate established in 2014, operating across fintech, agribusiness, FMCG, healthcare and export trading, with a presence in multiple African countries and global markets.
We exist for the part of the market formal banking has largely passed over: traders, agents, merchants, MSMEs and ordinary earners who run real economic activity without a bank behind them. We serve them through personal banking and wallets, business banking, corporate and ecosystem payments, agency banking and merchant acceptance — delivered through a growing branch and service-centre network and the field teams behind it.
We are in a build phase. The structure, the propositions and the standards are being set now, by the people joining now.
About the role
You will be the single version of commercial truth for this business. Scorecards across every vertical, channel, location and proposition; the analysis of what is actually happening underneath them; and the monthly pack that goes to the board. The reporting is the easy half. The job is telling people what the numbers mean, and holding the line when a figure is inconvenient.
What you will do
Maintain consolidated vertical, channel, location and proposition scorecards, and produce the board-ready monthly pack. Analyse acquisition, activation, retention, balances, transaction, revenue, cost and contribution trends. Build cohort, funnel, productivity, unit-economics and variance analyses. Validate management reports against source data before anyone acts on them, and document the definitions and assumptions applied.
Own the commercial KPI dictionary, source catalogue and approved calculation logic — with ownership and a change record against every definition. Challenge inconsistent data and get it corrected at source, rather than adjusting it downstream. Support forecasts, business cases, pricing reviews, campaign analysis and investment decisions.
Define dashboard and alert requirements with Technology and Data, and validate the outputs before management use. Identify performance gaps, unusual trends and the findings that should change a decision.
Requirements
A first degree in finance, economics, statistics, data analytics, accounting, business or a related discipline. Three to five years in commercial analytics, business intelligence, finance, banking or fintech. Strong Excel and dashboard experience. SQL or a BI tool is an advantage. Portfolio and funnel analysis, unit economics, financial modelling, data quality and reconciliation, management reporting.
Analytical rigour, business judgement, and the ability to explain a finding to someone who will never read the workings. Integrity under pressure to present a better number, and the confidence to tell a senior manager their figure is wrong.
