About the role

Meherrin River Regional Jail is looking for a reliable and qualified LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to care for individuals in our custody.

What you'll do

Provide direct patient care to incarcerated individuals Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, and record patient health data Support sick call and assist providers with procedures Administer medications and maintain accurate Medication Administration Record (MAR) documentation Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly Conduct rounds and document patient progress Follow infection control and safety protocols Maintain medication security, including narcotics counts and accountability Assist with patient transfers and complete required reports Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Graduate of an approved practical nursing program Active LPN license in Virginia, or a multistate (Nurse Licensure Compact) license Solid knowledge of nursing care principles and practices Ability to recognize signs of mental illness, emotional distress, and substance use disorders Proficiency in phlebotomy and administering PPD (TB skin) tests [Current CPR/BLS certification] [Ability to pass a background check] Benefits: Medical insurance Dental insurance with a generous orthodontic credit Vision insurance Company-paid life insurance and extensive ancillary coverage options Paid time off Flexible schedule Employee assistance program (EAP) Continuing education credits Tuition reimbursement Referral program Type: Full-Time, 12-hour shifts (Night Shift) About CBH Medical CBH Medical is a visibly different correctional healthcare experience, delivering flexibility, transparency, improved patient health, reporting, and oversight by a leadership team with decades of correctional experience.
