Commercial HVAC Chiller Service Technician Indianapolis, IN | Take-Home Vehicle + Paid Drive Time + Daily Overtime If chillers are your specialty and you enjoy solving the problems that require real technical depth, we should talk. Perfection Group is hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Chiller Service Technician to support commercial and industrial customers throughout Indianapolis and the surrounding Central Indiana market.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work on complex chiller systems, perform major inspections and overhauls, complete advanced troubleshooting, and build trusted relationships with customers who depend on your expertise. You’ll have the independence to manage assigned accounts while being backed by an experienced Service team, strong operational support, and continued manufacturer and technical training.

Your responsibilities

Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining centrifugal, reciprocating, screw, and absorption chillers Working on equipment manufactured by Trane, Carrier, YORK, Daikin, Mc. Quay, and other major commercial brands Performing chiller overhauls, major inspections, scheduled maintenance, and system retrofits Diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, hydronic, and controls-related problems Using manufacturer specifications, operating data, schematics, service tools, and diagnostic instruments to identify root causes Inspecting and verifying safety devices, limit controls, operating settings, and overall system performance Testing the complete system before leaving the job to reduce repeat service calls Identifying necessary repairs, parts, materials, and recommended next steps Supporting piping, sheet-metal, controls, and retrofit work as needed Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, mechanical schematics, control sequences, and manufacturer documentation Working with building automation and equipment-control systems Maintaining accurate records of work performed, readings, parts, materials, and equipment conditions Communicating clearly with customers about equipment performance, completed work, repair needs, and recommended solutions Managing assigned customer accounts and maintaining dependable follow-through Participating in a rotating emergency on-call schedule, including nights and weekends Maintaining an organized company vehicle, tools, inventory, equipment, and work area Collaborating with other technicians and seeking additional expertise when a problem requires team support What You Bring Five or more years of commercial chiller and HVAC service experience Strong hands-on experience with centrifugal, screw, reciprocating, or absorption chillers Advanced mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, hydronic, and controls troubleshooting skills Experience performing chiller inspections, major repairs, overhauls, or retrofits Ability to independently manage complex service calls from diagnosis through completion Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operating data, and technical documentation Familiarity with building automation systems, equipment interfaces, and digital diagnostic tools Universal EPA Section 608 certification Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record Clear, professional communication with customers, dispatch, leadership, vendors, and teammates Strong organization, attention to detail, and ownership of customer commitments Calm, practical judgment when responding to difficult or urgent equipment problems Commitment to safe, accurate, high-quality work A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Completion of an HVAC trade-school program, apprenticeship, manufacturer training, or equivalent technical education is preferred. Comparable commercial chiller experience will also be considered.
