Job description

Fortune International is currently seeking to employ one S huttle Driver (CLASS A) to be based within the vicinity of Bensenville, IL , responsible for the delivery and unloading of various company products, including, but not limited to, seafood, beef, poultry, and gourmet items, to local clients in Madison, WI . The selected employees will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, thereby ensuring the provision of exemplary customer service.

They will be expected to uphold the highest safety standards while operating the vehicles of Fortune Fish and Gourmet. Additionally, great care must be taken in the handling of perishable products in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.

Responsibilities

Perform all pre-trip responsibilities, including checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries. Perform necessary vehicle safety inspections for the vehicle. Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route. Ensure vehicle is properly secured during drop-offs. Load and unload products from vehicle using dolly or other appropriate devices safely.

Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt of product. Contact management to discuss issues or concerns as they arise throughout the workday. Perform all post-delivery actions, including unloading damaged product, customer returns, and completing any necessary documents.

Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during the operation of the truck and handling of product. Monitor and ensure that temperature-controlled vehicles maintain required temperature limits to ensure product quality. Develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and goodwill by providing professional assistance and by demonstrating an interest in the customer’s needs.

Report any complaints to the Supervisor. Collect money from customers and properly record transactions on company documentation, including invoices. Ensure that payments (cash, checks, etc.) are properly secured. Ensure that safety training is current as per company policy. Adhere to the safety features provided by Samsara.

Support the Transportation Manager by ensuring that vehicles are maintained according to schedule and records are current and correct. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Requirements Education – High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience – One to two years of driving experience. Transportation of temperature-controlled product experience preferred.

Customer Service – Friendly, outgoing, and courteous customer service demeanor. Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time-sensitive deadlines with the ability to work with limited supervision. Licensing

  • Must have a valid CLASS A state driver’s license. Environmental – Available to work long shifts. The position necessitates a start time of 3:00 PM. Language – Basic English-speaking proficiency. A combination of the above will also be considered.
