Design Engineer – Airports – Future Opportunities - UAE

We are looking to connect with experienced Airport Design Engineers with 5–8 years of professional experience and a strong background in airside or landside airport infrastructure design for future opportunities in the United Arab Emirates.

The successful candidate will contribute to the production and review of airport infrastructure designs for greenfield and brownfield developments. The position will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver safe, coordinated, technically robust, and constructible airport solutions throughout the design lifecycle.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Undertake airport infrastructure design activities across concept, preliminary, detailed, and tender design stages.
2. Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, design reports, technical specifications, and other design deliverables.
3. Contribute to the design of airside infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield pavements, service roads, and associated facilities.
4. Contribute to the design of landside infrastructure, including access roads, kerbside areas, parking facilities, transport interfaces, and associated utilities.
5. Coordinate airport infrastructure designs with civil, roads, drainage, utilities, structures, architecture, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.
6. Participate in technical reviews, multidisciplinary coordination meetings, constructability reviews, and value engineering activities.
7. Identify and resolve technical design issues, risks, interfaces, and multidisciplinary coordination conflicts.
8. Support the delivery of coordinated, high-quality design packages in accordance with project requirements and agreed schedules. Job Requirements:
9. A minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience.
10. Proven engineering design experience on airport infrastructure projects is mandatory.
11. Experience in airside or landside airport infrastructure design.
12. Experience working on greenfield or brownfield airport projects.
13. Demonstrated ability to produce and review engineering calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and technical submissions.
14. Experience contributing to airport projects throughout the design lifecycle.
15. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Airport Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Combined experience in both airside and landside airport infrastructure.
2. Experience working across both greenfield and brownfield airport developments.
3. Experience on major international or regional airport projects.
4. Experience within an international multidisciplinary engineering consultancy.
