Principal Product Owner
Job description
We are seeking an experienced Principal Product Owner to lead our product transformation efforts and drive the evolution of our product suite to cloud-native solutions. This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll own the overall market and customer understanding for your product line, articulate a clear product vision aligned with strategic goals, and manage a team of Product Owners and analysts.
You'll be instrumental in shaping the future direction of our products in a rapidly evolving market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Product Leadership Lead the strategic evolution and enhancement of existing products onto cloud-native platforms Own overall market and customer understanding for product development, identifying opportunities through segmentation and competitive analysis Articulate a clear, compelling product vision that aligns with corporate strategic goals Set the strategic direction for product lines and communicate roadmap to stakeholders Team Management Manage and mentor a team of 3 Product Owners and analysts Develop team capabilities and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement Ensure team alignment on product strategy and execution Conduct performance management and career development for direct reports Product Development & Innovation Lead the definition of strategic partnerships, advising on build, buy, or partner approaches for future capabilities Create compelling business cases for product innovation and define the product roadmap Lead the definition of detailed product requirements and manage market feedback to refine product direction Drive product delivery and execution, particularly for product transformation or complex development initiatives Cross-Functional Collaboration Drive cross-functional activities related to positioning, pricing, and promotion for new and enhanced products Collaborate with engineering, design, sales, marketing, and customer success teams Lead efforts in highly matrixed environments and influence without direct authority Manage stakeholder expectations and navigate competing priorities Performance Management Manage product performance to achieve revenue and margin objectives for both current and next-generation products Define KPIs and success metrics for product lines Monitor market performance, adoption rates, and competitive positioning Generate insights and reports for leadership on product health and business impact Required Skills and Experience 7-10 years of product management experience in a product-led organization Proven focus on Technology, Financial Services, or Data & Analytics sectors Demonstrated product delivery and execution skills, particularly with product transformation or complex development initiatives Experience leading product management teams or mentoring junior product managers Fundamental experience writing detailed product requirements and understanding of commercial models Proficiency with product management tools (Aha, JIRA, Figma, or similar) Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and cloud technology fundamentals Ability to understand technical architecture and collaborate effectively with engineering teams Experience with data analytics and metrics-driven decision making Benefits & Perks Flexible/hybrid working arrangements.
